
ANAYA BROWN NAMED OVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Following a dominant double-double in the team's win over Arkansas State, University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball forward Anaya Brown was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.
A native of Lexington, Ky., Brown posted her fourth career double-double in an impressive road victory against Sun Belt foe Arkansas State. In the team's lone contest of the week, she tied her season-high with 18 points while setting a new career-high with 17 rebounds. She added three assists, three blocks and a steal to a loaded stat column.
Brown has scored in double figures in nine contests this season while recording three double-doubles – including in back-to-back games. Her 17 rebounds also marked the most by a Skyhawk since 2008 and the most by an OVC performer this season.
The Skyhawks open OVC play this weekend with a road matchup at Tennessee State on Thursday, Dec. 28. Tipoff from the Gentry Center is scheduled for 5 p.m.
