CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The University of Tennessee at Martin golf team remains in second place in the team standings following Round 2 of the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference Championships, hosted by Dalhousie Golf Club.
After rain in the area led to an hour delay in tee times, it was clear skies for the Skyhawks today as they shot a 295 (+7). That brings UT Martin's 36-hole total to 594 (+18), just two shots off the pace set by SIUE, who shot a tournament-best 293 today to claim the top spot in the field.
"We need to improve how we handled ourselves and emotions tomorrow," Skyhawk head coach Austin Swafford said. "The guys fought hard and finished well but we are getting in our own way just a bit. If we can improve that going into the final round of stroke play, I think that will help us. We are in a good spot but many teams are still in contention for the top-four in match play – we'll need to be focused and ready to play tomorrow."
