BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. – The University of Tennessee at Martin sits atop the leaderboard alongside Southeastern Louisiana after Day 1 of the Gulf Coast Collegiate held at Diamondhead Country Club.
The Skyhawks and Southeastern Louisiana are knotted at 589 (+13), which is seven shots better than third-place Morehead State. "We got off to a great start this morning," UT Martin head coach Austin Swafford said. "It was our first event playing as a group and we were able to feed off one another nicely. This afternoon the weather was a major factor and we got away from our game a bit. We'll look to get back on track tomorrow. Overall, we are in a great spot and I'm extremely proud of the team."
Individually, Tate Chumley led the pack today as the junior from Murfreesboro, Tenn. carded scores of 72-71 for a 143 (-1).
