PRIVATE ANTHONY STEWART MEMORIAL SERVICE SET FOR SUNDAY; WILL BE STREAMED ON FACEBOOK LIVE AND AIRED ON LOCAL RADIO

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin will hold a memorial ceremony for Skyhawk head men's basketball coach Anthony Stewart on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.
Due to the recommendation of campus health officials and updated CDC guidelines surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the service is closed to the public. Only family, guests of the family and Skyhawk athletic staff will be allowed to attend.
The event will be streamed on Facebook Live at the link above. Thunderbolt Broadcasting will also air the ceremony live locally on WCMT stations 92.7 FM, 96.1 FM, 99.7 FM, 100.5 FM, 103.3 FM, 1410 AM and the link above.
Stewart suddenly passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the age of 50. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his sons Anthony and Parker, and his daughter Skylar.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. and raised in Akron, Ohio, Stewart was the 10th head coach in UT Martin men's basketball history. He started in that role during the 2016-17 season, a year where the Skyhawks tied a school record with 22 victories.
Overall, Stewart coached five All-Ohio Valley Conference performers during his four-year tenure as UT Martin head coach. He was part of history in 2017 when he guided the Skyhawks to their first-ever home postseason victory with a win in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
