UT MARTIN TENNIS HOSTS THREE-TEAM SKYHAWK FALL INVITE THIS WEEK

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin tennis team will look to dodge inclement weather this week as the program hosts the Skyhawk Fall Invite, tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 through Saturday, Oct. 26.
The event was originally scheduled to begin on Friday but was pushed up because of the threat of rain. Thursday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high of 72 degrees while there is a 50 percent chance of rain on Friday evening and a 70 percent chance of rain all day on Saturday.
The 2019 Skyhawk Fall Invite field includes UT Martin, North Alabama and Southern Indiana. Action begins at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday with four doubles matches between the Skyhawks and North Alabama. Eight singles matches between the two squads will follow around 4:30 p.m.
Friday's matchups begin at 9 a.m. when UT Martin and North Alabama play four doubles matches. At 11 a.m., Southern Indiana and North Alabama will play four doubles matches in addition to a lone singles match featuring the Skyhawks and Southern Indiana. Around noon, eight singles matches between Southern Indiana and North Alabama will take place. Following a brief break, UT Martin and Southern Indiana will play four doubles matches on Friday at 3 p.m.
If the Saturday morning forecast clears up, the Skyhawks and Southern Indiana will play eight singles matches at 10 a.m. However, if rain remains in the Saturday forecast, the UT Martin and Southern Indiana singles matches will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday.
The Skyhawks have played three tournaments and one match so far this fall. Aziza Aubin leads UT Martin with six singles victories while the team of Amelia Campbell and Daphne Pratt have piled up a team-best three doubles wins. Overall, the Skyhawks have combined for 19 singles wins and six doubles victories in the fall.
