SEVERE WEATHER THREAT CAUSES CANCELLATION OF SKYHAWK BASEBALL SEASON FINALE

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin held an early lead against Murray State before a lightning delay forced the cancellation of today's scheduled season finale at Skyhawk Field.

Eight UT Martin seniors (Konnor Aherin, Tyler Albright, Ben Aslett, Caleb Brewer, Peyton Cain, Collin Edwards, Carson Shrode and Dalton Westfall) were recognized for their career contributions in a pregame ceremony.

The Skyhawks led by a 3-2 margin in the bottom of the second before a lightning delay occurred at 3:44 p.m. Billy Edwards got UT Martin on the scoreboard with an RBI single and was followed by a Casey Harford RBI single. The Skyhawks took their first lead of the game when Shrode scampered home on a wild pitch just moments before the delay.

UT Martin finishes the 2018 season with an 11-40 overall record and a 7-22 Ohio Valley Conference mark under first-year head coach Ryan Jenkins.
