
SKYHAWK MEN RECOGNIZED REGIONALLY IN LATEST CROSS COUNTRY RANKINGS

NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the third time this season, the University of Tennessee at Martin men's cross country team has notched a regional ranking by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon in the Week 4 South Region Rankings, coming it at No. 15.
The Skyhawks were rewarded for their strong showing at the Louisville Cross Country Classic with their third regional ranking of the season. UT Martin rank as the 15th-best team in the South Region after the squad saw seven different individuals post new personal-records in their last outing.
Junior Ryan Ford earned top-25 honors with a 20th place finish in stacked field, crossing the line at 24:30.8 in the 8k. Newcomer Oisin O'Gailin finished second for the Skyhawk men at 24:47.6 followed by Lenny Baumann, Daniel Smith and Marcos Macias to round out the scoring five. Additionally, Tim Dye and Will Oglesby also posted PRs in the meet.
"The men have started to turn the corner from the building phase of the season to the racing phase," UT Martin head coach Peter Dalton said. "We're confident this is just the beginning and we know the results will only get better and better."
UT Martin will return to competition at the Wisconsin Pre-National Invitational in Madison, Wisc. On Saturday, Oct. 13.
