William Mackall was one of the premier receiver in UT Martin football history and helped lead the team to one of its most successful seasons ever.
A tailback his freshman season, he moved to receiver where he had 225 catches for 2,448 yards and 16 TD's. He had 90 catches his senior season as UT Martin won the Gulf South Conference championship and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA National playoffs.
Elected as a team co-captain, he was a Football Gazette All-American and two-time All-GSC selection both as a receiver and kick returner. He was named to the Quarter Century All-Gulf South team, the leading vote getter among the receivers.
