Leon Reed was one of the most productive quarterbacks in UT Martin football history. In less than two years as a starter, he established several game, season, and career records that stood for years. For his career he completed 402-of-697 pass attempts for 4,842 passing yards, 42 touchdowns - including 30 passes and 12 rushing - and 5,333 yards of total offense to go along with five 300-yard passing performances.
The team advanced to the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals and won the Gulf South Conference Championship. He was just the second player in school history who was named GSC Offensive Player of the Year (1988) and was also named Football Gazette All-American.
