Lashlee, UTM's first All-American football player,was named to the Junior College All-American team in 1957 as an end. Lashlee served as team captain his final season and also was co-MVP that season.

A campus leader, received many honors during his tenure at UTM. A business major, Lashlee served a stint in the Marines after graduation.

Lashlee continued to play football while in the service. He played on the All-Far East Navy Champions team of 1962 and was selected to play on the All-Star team in the Turkey Bowl in Tokyo.
