H. Kirk Grantham*

H. Kirk Grantham, who was inducted posthumously, served as UT Martin's first football coach when the school was known as Hall-Moody and continued his service to the institution through 1937 as athletic director and basketball coach. He compiled an overall record of 51-22 in basketball. As a football coach from 1925 to 1932, Grantham won 28 games. He also served as baseball coach from 1927 to 1931 and is credited with laying the cornerstone of Pacer athletics.
Grantham was honored at UT Martin in 1974 when the current football field was named in his honor. The H. Kirk Grantham Memorial Athletic Endowment Fund, which is used to further the athletic program, was established on Jan. 12, 1974.
