Jones scored 1,395 points in four years on the UT Martin freshman and varsity basketball teams. He held a school record for most free throws in a game (15) which stood for 26 years.
He concluded his career with a 17.6 ppg average and was team MVP as senior. He was an All-Volunteer State Athletic Conference selection two times.
