FOOTBALL COACH SAYS TEAM POSTS BEST GRADES EVER IN FALL SEMESTER

MARTIN– The University of Tennessee at Martin football team finished this past season with an 8-3 record on the field. More success followed off the field and in the classroom.

Forty members of the football team, almost half the squad, made at least a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA), while 30 players made the Dean’s List and four made a perfect 4.0 GPA.

“This is the best the team has done since I have been here at UT Martin,” head football coach Jason Simpson said.

For the second consecutive semester, all student-athletes at UT Martin earned at least a 3.0 or better. One semester removed from a school-best 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA), the student-athletes earned a 3.05 GPA for the Fall 2012 semester.

“I’m so proud of our student-athletes for achieving a 3.0 GPA for two consecutive semesters,” said Phil Dane, UT Martin director of intercollegiate athletics.
