CASPER, Wyo. – Five representatives from the University of Tennessee at Martin rodeo teams took center stage today during the second day of the 2014 College National Finals Rodeo, held at the Casper Events Center.
After two days of competition featuring the nation’s best collegiate teams and individuals, the UT Martin men’s team ranks No. 2 out of 42 teams in points (290), just 10 points shy of leader Sheridan College.
Clark Adcock put on quite a showing in the first go of tie down roping, as his 8.3 score ranked as the best out of 46 participants. His teammate Will Lummus also generated a top-10 performance with a score of 10.0 in the first go.
Lummus also competed in the steer wrestling event today, placing 14th with a score of 5.9 in the first go.
Adcock and John Alley joined forces in the first go of team roping, finishing with a score of 8.2 to rank 17th.
In barrel racing, Nealey Dalton made her CNFR debut today, scoring 14.56 in the first go of the event.
Tanner Phipps also posted a great score in the second go of bareback riding, as his 77 points ranked second out of the 19 cowboys who participated today.
Day 3 of the CNFR begins with slacks at 7 a.m. local time on Tuesday, June 17.
