MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team rounded out its fall schedule on a high note with a 13-3 win over Miami (Ohio) on Friday at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion.

The Skyhawks earned a 7-1 victory in Hunterseat and 6-2 triumph in Western, resulting in their second victory in the last three events dating back to Nov. 8.

UT Martin was responsible for a clean 4-0 sweep in equitation. Erin Douglas’ 70-point ride got things started, followed by a 71 points out of Reid Rickett. Hunter Ralston earned an MOP accolade after her 72-point ride while Mykaela Van Selus rounded things out with 61 points.

Nora Wilson earned an MOP honor in equitation over fences for her score of 85 points. Rachel Crinklaw (80 points) and Ralston (83 points) also chalked up team points for the Skyhawks.

In horsemanship, Jordan Elmore (74.5 points), Brittany Woodard (73 points) and Kenzie Perry (73.5 points) helped the Skyhawks edge out Miami (Ohio) by a 3-1 margin. Woodard captured MOP accolades.

Melanie Aiosa’s 71.5 point ride resulted in a point for UT Martin in reining. Sam Knight’s MOP performance of 74.5 points also gave the Skyhawks a team point while Laney Hixson (68.5 points) also accounted for a team point.

UT Martin opens its 2014 spring season with four straight home events, starting with a Jan. 24 showdown with No. 1 Georgia at 10 a.m.
