LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin cross country squads wrapped up their third meet of the fall this past weekend at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission.
The men’s team was led by freshman Dalton Hudlow with an 8K time of 27:54.31. Freshman David Wells posted a time of 28:10.96 while classmate Joey DeSantis finished at 28:23.59.
Other UT Martin finishers include junior Josiah Roberts (29:38.02), senior Vance Pounders (30:14.25), sophomore Zach Phifer (31:23.77), sophomore Mark Graubner (32:11.45) and freshman Aaron Hall (33:02.70).
The women’s team was led by sophomore Hayley Doty who placed 80th with a 5K time of 19:36.15. Senior Hannah Wolters (20:55.67) was trailed by sophomore Alexandra Stover with a time of 20:56.64.
Other UT Martin finishers include junior Grace Lucas (21:13.14), sophomore Abby Frantom (21:24.78), freshman Marne Helbing (21:31.41), sophomore Kaycee Grimes (21:41.67) and freshman Heather Mullis (22:47.89).
“Regardless of having three of our top guys not racing, it was a miserable day,” said UT Martin cross country coach Gordon Sanders. “Even the ladies were across the board tired. The good news is that most fixes are easy ones.”
The Skyhawks will look to their upcoming meet at the Chattanooga’s Front Runner Invite on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m.
