MARTIN, Tenn. – Fresh off its victory in the inaugural Skyhawk Invitational, The University of Tennessee at Martin is ranked 10th in the Women’s Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll, which were released this afternoon.
The Skyhawks enter the polls after receiving votes in last week’s rankings. UT Martin defeated Fresno State (tied 8-8, but won in raw points tiebreaker) and South Dakota State (12-4) in its last two outings on March 22-23.
Earlier this week, UT Martin learned that it would compete in its seventh straight National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championships. The Skyhawks are seeded No. 9 and will square off against Kansas State in the Hunter Seat competition, while they are ranked 10th in the Western discipline, facing South Dakota State in the first round.
This poll is the final one of the 2012-13 season before the NCEA National Championships, which will take place at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas on April 18-20.
