A total of seven personal highs were set as Brigitte Curcio (586), Alex Tamboli (573), Celia Gelpey (563) and Sean Phillips (546) all tallied new bests in air rifle. Andre Delcalzo (560), Phillips (559) and Jacob Osborne set new career highs in smallbore.

Joe Martin (576) paced UT Martin in smallbore as Curcio (566), Kaitlin Korinek (572) and Jennifer Plocinik (557) combined to fire 2,271 points. Korinek (592) led the Skyhawks in air rifle while Curcio (586), Martin (579) and Plocinik (572) shot a total score of 2,329. The quartet totaled a 4,600 aggregate for the mixed team.

Brianna Sawyers (576) led the way for the women’s team in air rifle as Ashley Coots (567), Gelpey (563) and Kalen Royal (555) all pitched in for an air rifle score of 2,261.

Murray State was able to muster an aggregate of 4,701 (2,335 smallbore and 2,366 air rifle) to edge out the mixed team’s 4,600.

“Our air rifle was very strong while our smallbore struggled some,” said head coach MJ Vowell. “When everything was said and done, the mixed team was holding their average. We had several personal bests set over the weekend as well which has helped boost the team.”

UT Martin travels to Oxford, Miss. to compete in the Ole Miss Open on Sunday, Oct. 8.
