JODIE DUNCAN NAMED TSWA SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin junior Jodie Duncan has been named Softball Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association on Wednesday for her performance over the past week against Ole Miss and Eastern Kentucky.
Duncan posted a .500 batting average in a pair of contests, tallying a pair of runs scored while notching one home run and five RBIs. The third baseman tallied one RBI against No. 18 Ole Miss before cranking her first career grand slam over the centerfield wall against Eastern Kentucky. The lefty posted a 1.250 slugging percentage along with a .667 on-base percentage for the week.
A native of Munford, Duncan is posting career highs in nearly every statistical category during her junior campaign. She is currently posting a .355 batting average while tallying 49 base hits, six doubles, four home runs and 34 RBIs on the season.
Duncan and the Skyhawks return to action this afternoon with a showdown against No. 18 ranked Kentucky. First pitch from Bettye Giles Field is scheduled for 4 p.m.
