RICHARDSON PACES UT MARTIN AFTER FIRST TWO ROUNDS OF LITTLE ROCK FIRST TEE CLASSIC

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Junior Hunter Richardson ranks just outside the top-five in the individual standings as the University of Tennessee at Martin golf team took part in the first two rounds of the Little Rock First Tee College Classic at the Chenal Country Club.
Richardson posted a 71 in each round today, finishing with a 142 (-2) to tie for sixth out of 78 golfers. He dialed up three birdies in both the morning and afternoon rounds, leading the field for an extended period of time after three birdies in his first five holes of the second round.
As a team, UT Martin shot a 303 in the opening round and a 301 in the second round, ranking 13th in the field with a 604 (+28). Only two teams in the field shot under par today, as host Little Rock leads the way with a 568 (-8).
Austin Swafford (76, 77) was responsible for a team-high eight birdies today, five of which came in the afternoon round. Overall, he tallied a 153 (+9) through 36 holes.
Tyler Guy accounted for four total birdies today, carding an 80 and a 75 for a 155 (+11). Gavin Shellnut (156, +12) shot a 77 in the first round and followed with a 79 while Jack Story (157, +13) opened with a 79 before closing with a 78.
The Skyhawks will look to improve during tomorrow’s third and final round, which will start at 8 a.m. UT Martin is paired with Louisiana Tech, Central Arkansas, Little Rock, Lamar and Rice for the last round.
