MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team puts a five-game winning streak on the line when it squares off against the No. 1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats on Friday, Nov. 25 at Rupp Arena. The game will be featured live on SEC Network and will tip off at 6 p.m. CST.

This matchup features the two lone remaining undefeated participants in the Bluegrass Showcase, a multi-team event that also includes Canisius, Cleveland State and Duquesne.

The Skyhawks (5-1), who are off to their best start since the 2002-03 campaign, posted an impressive 66-63 triumph at Atlantic 10 member Duquesne on Wednesday. In that game, UT Martin trailed by 16 points with just under 14 minutes to go before Jacolby Mobley took over - scoring a career-best 25 points while also swishing the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer. The victory was the 22nd true road win in the last three seasons for UT Martin, which ranks only behind Albany and Monmouth’s 23 road wins for the most in Division-I basketball during that span.

This is the first time in Skyhawk history that UT Martin will face the nation’s top ranked squad. The last time the Skyhawks faced a top-5 opponent was Dec. 27, 2010 when UT Martin traveled to Columbus to take on No. 2 Ohio State.

Kentucky (5-0) leaped into the No. 1 spot in the national polls on Monday. The Wildcats currently rank in the top-six nationally in blocks (39, fourth), turnovers forced (103, fourth) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.212, sixth).

Kentucky is coming off a 101-70 throttling of Cleveland State on Wednesday, a victory that crowned John Calipari as the all-time winningest coach in Rupp Arena history (123 wins against four losses). Playing without injured leading scorer Isaiah Briscoe, the Wildcats were paced by the freshman backcourt duo of Malik Monk (23 points) and De’Aaron Fox (double-double of 16 points and 11 assists).
