SKYHAWK TENNIS TEAM, FOUR INDIVIDUALS HONORED WITH ITA ACADEMIC ACCOLADES

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced that the University of Tennessee at Martin has received All-Academic Team honors while Skyhawk student-athletes Sarah Candeloro, Hitomi Naito, Andrea Plantada Cordes and Jemima Potter each brought home Scholar-Athlete Awards.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team Grade Point Average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.0 scale). In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
UT Martin compiled a 3.44 team GPA in 2015-16, also winning the program’s sixth Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship in the process. Candeloro (3.83 GPA), Naito (3.74), Plantada Cordes (3.68) and Potter (3.67) each helped contribute to the Skyhawks’ success in the classroom.
