SKYHAWK ATHLETICS BOASTS EIGHT STUDENT-ATHLETES WHO EARN OVC MEDAL OF HONOR

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin was responsible for eight student-athletes who amassed a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average in 2015-16, as the Ohio Valley Conference released its annual Medal of Honor recipients today.

Individually, Ben Reeves (men’s golf) was awarded an OVC Medal of Honor for the third time in his careers. Baseball’s Drew Erie also brought home his second career OVC Medal of Honor award.

All in all, a total of 245 OVC student-athletes earned 4.0 GPA’s during last season’s academic school year, which establishes a new record-high. It was announced on Wednesday that 83 UT Martin student-athletes earned a spot on the 2015-16 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll (at least a 3.25 GPA). The OVC Team Academic winners will be released on Friday, July 29.

UT Martin’s OVC Medal of Honor recipients are listed below. Multiple asterisks indicate the number of years the student-athlete has made the prestigious list.
