MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team continues its five-game road swing against in-state opponents when it takes on Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay at Raymond C. Hand Park.

The series has been pushed back a day because of the threat of heavy rain in the Clarksville area over the weekend. Game 1 of the series will now take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, followed by Game 2 on Sunday, May 11 at 1 p.m. The third and final game of the series will take place on Monday, May 12. The start time for that contest is to be determined. With the schedule adjustments of this series, UT Martin will now close out its season with seven games in eight days.

The Skyhawks (8-36, 4-20 OVC) are currently playing some of their best ball of the season, as they have won four of their last seven contests. That includes a convincing 4-0 road victory over Lipscomb on Tuesday, the Skyhawks’ first shutout in 2014. Alex Boshers tossed a season-high seven innings while Stu Jones and John Houston followed with one inning apiece out of the bullpen to pace the best pitching performance of the season, as UT Martin did not issue a single walk or concede an extra-base hit.

The Skyhawks will look to keep up their pitching momentum this weekend. Junior left-hander Taylor Cox (0-9, 8.22 ERA) is expected to start on the hill in Game 1 of the series, followed by junior southpaw Dalton Potts (1-7, 8.48) in Game 2 and junior righty and Clarksville native Alex Martin (0-7, 5.27) in the series finale.

Taylor Douglas (.378) leads a trio of Skyhawks who hit above .300 in OVC play, including Cox (.353) and Nick Molina (.317). Freshman Ben Upton accounts for a team-best 20 RBI’s in 22 games against OVC opposition.

Austin Peay (19-30, 11-13 OVC) has dropped five of its last six decisions, although four of those setbacks have been by one run apiece.

Freshman Alex Robles has emerged as one of the top two-way players in the OVC, as the third baseman and right-handed starting pitcher is hitting a team-best .344 with 31 RBI’s at the dish while posting a 5-2 record with a 3.40 ERA in 76.2 innings on the mound. He is listed as the Governors’ probable starting pitcher for Saturday, followed by sophomore right-hander Jared Carkuff (2-2, 5.72) on Sunday and redshirt senior lefty Alex Belew (0-1, 4.72) on Monday.
