MARTIN, Tenn. – Coming off an impressive showing to open its 2014 spring season, the University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team was rewarded with a No. 9 national ranking in the first national poll released by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association this afternoon.

Overall, the Skyhawks are 3-4-3 on the season against a challenging schedule that has included matchups against five of the top-10 teams in the nation (No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Auburn, No. 4 Kansas State, No. 5 New Mexico State and No. 6 Georgia).

The Skyhawks resume their spring slate with home competitions against Minnesota-Crookston (March 7) and No. 1 South Carolina (March 8). UT Martin will then take on No. 7 Oklahoma State on March 15 and take part in a tournament hosted by South Dakota State (March 28-29) before the NCEA Tournament takes place.
