MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM KICKS OFF FOUR-GAME ROAD SWING AT EASTERN KENTUCKY ON THURSDAY

MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team begins a season-long four-game road trip with a matchup against Ohio Valley Conference East rival Eastern Kentucky on Thursday, Jan. 30. Tipoff time from McBrayer Arena is set for 6 p.m. CST.
The Skyhawks have won two of their last three games against Eastern Kentucky, with the only loss in that span occuring on UT Martin’s last visit to Richmond - an 86-78 double overtime thriller on Jan. 19, 2012.
UT Martin (7-16, 2-6 OVC) is coming off an 87-82 loss to SIU Edwardsville on Saturday. Terence Smith accounted for a game-high 22 points while Dee Oldham (16), Myles Taylor (15) and Mike Liabo (12) each scored in double-figures.
Eastern Kentucky (14-7, 5-3 OVC) saw its season-best four-game winning streak snapped with a narrow 84-81 loss at Belmont on Saturday. In that game, the Colonels trailed by 22 points midway through the second half before their comeback attempt came up just short. Glenn Cosey led Eastern Kentucky with 24 points (including six 3-pointers) while Eric Stutz recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Colonels, who lead the OVC in scoring margin (+8.8).
