MEN'S HOOPS HEADS BACK ON THE ROAD TO TAKE ON OVC RIVAL MOREHEAD STATE ON SATURDAY

MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team returns to the road for the fourth time in the early Ohio Valley Conference season when it travels to Morehead State for a matchup against the Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 18. Tipoff time from Ellis T. Johnson Arena is set for 1 p.m. CST.
The Skyhawks (6-14, 1-4 OVC) are coming off their first OVC victory of the season - a 100-81 triumph over Tennessee State on Monday. In that game, UT Martin cracked 100 points for the first time since 2011 and also set season-highs in field goal percentage (.609), field goals made (39) and assists (25, against just eight turnovers). Six Skyhawks reached double-figures in the scoring column, led by Myles Taylor’s 25 points and Terence Smith’s 20 points.
Morehead State (12-7, 3-1 OVC) is coming off an 80-67 home victory over Southeast Missouri on Thursday night. The Eagles shook off a slow start - trailing 11-0 to begin the game - by connecting on 54.2 percent of their field goal attempts (23-for-24) and 90.5 percent of their attempts from the charity stripe (19-for-21) in the game’s final 20 minutes. Brent Arrington paced Morehead State with 20 points while Drew Kelly (16) and Angelo Warner (14) also scored in double-digits.
