EQUESTRIAN TEAM KICKS OFF LENGTHY HOMESTAND THIS WEEKEND AGAINST NATIONALLY RANKED SMU, KANSAS STATE

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team begins a stretch of seven straight home events this weekend when it takes on No. 10 Southern Methodist on Friday, Nov. 8 and No. 6 Kansas State on Saturday, Nov. 9. Action will begin at 10 a.m. on both days.

The Skyhawks have started the 2013-14 season with five straight competitions on the road. This weekend will be the first action for UT Martin since Oct. 19 at Auburn.

Reid Rickett has led the Skyhawks in equitation this season, earning four points and two MOP’s. Mykaela Van Selus (three points, one MOP), Hunter Ralston (two points) and Kaylan Herbst (one point) have also factored in UT Martin’s success in Hunterseat.

In equitation over fences, Ralston has led UT Martin with three points and one MOP. Erin Douglas has accounted for two points while Nora Wilson (one MOP) and Rickett have each recorded one point for the Skyhawks.

In Western, Kenzie Perry has chalked up four points and one MOP to pace UT Martin in horsemanship. Cora Rogalski has tallied three points, Laurel Ellzey is responsible for two points while Jordan Elmore has registered one point.

Megan Marie Foley has earned two points and one MOP ride for the Skyhawks in reining while Sam Knight also has one point on the season so far for UT Martin.
