MEN'S HOOPS MAKES SHORT TRIP TO MURRAY STATE IN OVC WEST SHOWDOWN ON THURSDAY

MARTIN, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball team returns to Ohio Valley Conference play when it travels to Murray State for a Thursday matchup at the CFSB Center. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Skyhawks (8-19, 4-10 OVC) enter the final weekend of the regular season a half-game out of eighth place in the OVC standings with two games remaining. UT Martin needs at least one win in its final two games to have a chance to qualify for the upcoming OVC Tournament.
UT Martin is coming off a 89-79 home victory over Longwood last Saturday. Terence Smith (21 points), Myles Taylor (18 points), Mike Liabo (15 points, nine assists, eight rebounds) and BJ McLaughlin (10 points) all scored in double-digits.
Murray State (20-7, 10-4 OVC) has won two straight - including a 73-62 home win over South Dakota State on Saturday. In that game, the Racers trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half before outscoring the Jackrabbits 40-23 in the second half. Isaiah Canaan tossed in a game-high 22 points while Stacy Wilson added 15 points for Murray State, who shot 55.2 percent in the second half.
