FIVE SOFTBALL PLAYERS NAMED NFCA ALL-AMERICA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES

MARTIN, Tenn. – Five members – Leah Taylor, Sam McClure, Jenny Bain, Chelsea Jones and Lindsey Feigl -- of the 2011-12 softball team at The University of Tennessee at Martin were named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
“We are extremely proud of the academic recognition that the girls earned,” UT Martin head softball coach Donley Canary said. ”It is keeping with the UT Martin tradition to recruit strong student-athletes. We hope to continue this tradition.”
The All-America Scholar-Athlete is bestowed upon any player, submitted by a member coach, who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year.
Seventy-five Ohio Valley Conference softball student-athletes received the honor.
