BASEBALL COACHES TO HOST WINTER PROSPECT CAMP, DECEMBER 20 AND 21

MARTIN, Tenn. – Bubba Cates, Brad Goss, Zac Cole and Craig Rodriquez, the head baseball coach and assistant coaches at The University of Tennessee at Martin, will host a Winter Prospect Camp Thursday and Friday, Dec. 20 and 21.
The camp, set for 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 20 is a hitting camp for high school prospects.
The pitching and catching camp for high school prospects is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21. The cost for each camp is $75 per person. If a prospect chooses to attend both camps the cost is $125 if payment is postmarked by Dec. 17. The cost of each camp at the door will be $85 or $150 for both camps.
All campers will be responsible for their own lunch during the break from noon to 1 p.m. Both camps will be held at the Skyhawk Baseball Field and the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on campus. Campers should be prepared to work inside and outside (weather permitting). No cleats are allowed.

Cates is in his 15th year at the helm of the UT Martin baseball program and his 23rd year of coaching. Widely respected in baseball circles, Cates is dedicated to sustaining a successful program at the university for many years to come.
Goss, from Russellville, Ark., enters his ninth season working with the Skyhawk baseball program and his fifth year as a full-time assistant coach. Goss has coached in the Alaskan Baseball League where he worked with former Major Leaguer Phil Plantier.
Cole begins his second season as the pitching coach. This past season he oversaw the Skyhawk pitching staff which broke a school record for most strikeouts in a season and had its first player drafted in more than 10 years. Cole played at Tennessee Tech and went on to play professionally for the Baltimore Orioles organization before coming to UT Martin.
Rodriquez is in his first season as an assistant coach at UT Martin. He spent this past season as the pitching coach at Northwest Florida State College. He played his collegiate career at Ole Miss and professionally with the Colorado Rockies and the Kansas City Royals.
