NEWSOME NAMED ADIDAS OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE WBB PLAYER OF WEEK

MARTIN, Tenn. – Junior guard Jasmine Newsome, from Millington, was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week.
Newsome helped the Skyhawks go 1-1 in its opening week of the season. In the
loss to Northwestern, she scored 24 points. She led the team with 17 points in
UT Martin's home opening win over Arkansas State. In addition to the 17 points,
Newsome had five assists and five steals.
This is the ninth time in three years Newsome has been named the OVC Player of the Week. She also was named the OVC Freshman of the Week five times.
