FRESHMAN GOLFER LEADS UT MARTIN TEAM AT AUSTIN PEAY INTERCOLLEGIATE

RESULTS

MARTIN, Tenn. – Freshman golfer Tyler Guy shot 3-over par to lead The University of Tennessee at Martin in F & M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate at The Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, Ky., earlier this week.

UT Martin finished 11th in the 14-team tournament field while Guy finished tied for 13th in the field of 81 golfers with his three-round 219.

As a team the Skyhawks shot a three-round 889. They shot a 293 (5-over) in the first round and even par 288 in the second round. The team of Guy, junior Brendon Caballero, Graham Sleigh, Clay Harbin and Tyler Shellnut shot a 308 in final round Tuesday.

Caballero shot a three-round 223. He shot even par (72) in the second round. Senior Graham Sleigh, from Clarksville, shot a three-round 224. He shot even par in the first round and 1-over par in the second round.

Junior Clay Harbin from Jackson shot a three-round 225. He shot an even par in the first round. Tyler Shellnut, a junior from Franklin, fired a three-round 230. His best round was a 3-over par 75 in the first round.

Freshman Ben Reeves played in the tournament as an individual and shot a three-round 223. He shot back-to-back 2-over pars in the second and third round.

The Skyhawk golfers will wrap up their fall season Nov. 5-6 at the Red Wolves Fall Beach Classic hosted by Arkansas State.
