WACO, Texas – Arguably the best season in University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian history was concluded today as the Skyhawks fell to top-seeded Texas A&M in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Equitation over Fences event quarterfinals at the Extraco Events Center.

Seeded No. 8 in the Equitation over Fences event, UT Martin could not find success against the No. 1 ranked Aggies today. The Skyhawks had previously advanced to the round of eight teams last Wednesday with a 2-2 raw points tiebreaker victory over Fresno State.

Lindsay Anderson was the high scorer for UT Martin today, as she racked up 148 points. Brooke Pfeiffer also posted 136 points for the Skyhawks while Abbie Hopkins and Monika Zoromski each ran into some tough luck with no scores.

Today’s result puts the finishing touches on a remarkable 2017-18 season for UT Martin equestrian and head coach Meghan Corvin. The program was ranked in the top-10 in 16 consecutive NCEA polls while producing a trio of Ariat NCEA All-Americans (Hopkins, second team equitation over fences; Noel Meadows, honorable mention reining; Madeline Williams, honorable mention reining).
