UT MARTIN BASEBALL HEADS TO OVC FOE MOREHEAD STATE FOR THREE-GAME SERIES

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team is set to travel to Morehead State for an Ohio Valley Conference matchup. The games have been altered from their original itinerary due to the threat of snow in the area. The first game of the series will be played at 3 p.m. CST on Thursday with a doubleheader on Friday beginning at noon CST.
UT Martin is led by Jordan Stoner (.340 batting average, two home runs and 10 RBIs). Carson Shrode boasts a team-high six home runs as well as 18 RBIs for the Skyhawks. Both Stoner and Shrode are coming off of hot weekends as they hit .462 and .385, respectively.
The Skyhawks have also seen run production from Ethan Whitley (five home runs and 17 RBIs), Tyler Albright (two home runs and 13 RBIs), Casey Harford (three home runs and 12 RBIs) and JoJo Allen (three home runs and 11 RBIs) rounding out the double-digit scoring options.
Left handed pitcher Dom Bazzani (1-2, 8.40 ERA) will get the start in Thursday’s matchup. Righty Winston Cannon (0-4, 9.09 ERA) will draw the start in Game 1 of Friday’s doubleheader while southpaw Sam Folks (1-3, 8.00 ERA) will start Game 2 of the day. The Skyhawk bullpen is led by relievers David Hussey (0-0, 5.25 ERA), Nick Wohlbold (0-0, 6.00 ERA) and Konnor Aherin (2-2, 6.75 ERA and one save).
Morehead State is led by Braxton Morris (.402 batting average, one home run and 16 RBIs). The duo of Bryce Hensor (.337 batting average and 15 RBIs) and Reid Leonard (.304 batting average and 15 RBIs) have provided a solid source of hitting as well. Trevor Snyder (.286 batting average and team-best five home runs and 27 RBIs) has swung the heaviest bat for the Eagles. The squad of Tyler Niemann (four home runs and 15 RBIs), Connor Pauly (three home runs and 16 RBIs), Eli Boggess (10 RBIs), Jake Hammon (one home run and 11 RBIs) and Hunter Fain (three home runs and 13 RBIs) finish out the the double-digit scoring options for Morehead State.
The Eagles’ wil go with right handed pitcher TJ Slatterly (0-0, 4.15 ERA) on Thursday. Righty David Calderon (1-3, 3.38 ERA) and southpaw Dalton Stambaugh (4-3, 5.32 ERA) will split the Friday starts, respectively. Relievers Cory Conway (3-1, 2.89 ERA) and Dom Masullo (2-1, 4.82 ERA and team-high four saves) have provided Morehead State with solid innings out of the bullpen.
