SKYHAWK BASEBALL SET TO HOST EASTERN KENTUCKY FOR EASTER WEEKEND MATCHUP

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team is set to host Ohio Valley Conference opponent Eastern Kentucky this weekend. The series is scheduled to begin with a doubleheader on Friday, March 30 at noon and wrap up on Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m.
UT Martin is led by Jordan Stoner who boasts a .322 batting average while sporting a .935 OPS on the season. His eight doubles rank 10th in the Ohio Valley Conference while he is tied for first in the league in triples with two on the season. Stoner is also tied for first in the conference in times hit by pitch with eight on the year. Stoner has tallied a team-best eight doubles and two triples while also belting a pair of home runs and racking up 10 RBIs.
The duo of Carson Shrode (five home runs and 16 RBIs) and Ethan Whitley (four home runs and 14 RBIs) have provided the Skyhawks with the biggest pop over the course of the season thus far. Casey Harford (three home runs and 11 RBIs), JoJo Allen (three home runs and 11 RBIs) and Tyler Albright (two home runs and 10 RBIs) round out the double-digit run production for UT Martin.
Left handed pitcher Dom Bazzani (1-2, 11.70 ERA) will start Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader followed by righty Winston Cannon (0-3, 10.73 ERA). Lefty Sam Folks (1-2, 7.71 ERA) will start on Saturday for the Skyhawks. UT Martin will look to its bullpen will provide solid innings of relief behind the arms of righty Jefferey O’Doherty (0-0, 5.79 ERA), right hander David Hussey (0-0, 6.23 ERA), lefty Konnor Aherin (2-2, 6.91 ERA and one save) and right handed pitcher Austin Buzick (0-1, 7.45 ERA).
Eastern Kentucky is led by Alex Holderbach (.319 batting average, five home runs and 24 RBIs) who also has posted a .945 OPS for the Colonels. Ryland Kerr (.333 batting average and 10 RBIs) and Cornell Nixon (.297 batting average and six RBIs) have also provided good bats while the quartet of Tyler Romanik, Chris Botsoe, Daniel Harris IV and Nick Howie have all connected for double digit runs batted in, Botsoe with 20.
The Eastern Kentucky rotation will feature right handed pitcher Kaven Brown (1-2, 5.40 ERA), righty Logan Teague (2-3, 5.97 ERA) and right hander Austin Perry (2-1, 3.20 ERA). Andrew McWhorter (0-0, 3.38 ERA) and Aaron Ochsenbein (1-1, 6.75 ERA and three saves) have given the Colonels solid innings out of the bullpen.
