MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball program is set to travel to Nashville to take on Ohio Valley Conference foe Belmont. The first game of the series will take place on Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m. followed by a Saturday, March 24 matchup at 2 p.m. and wrapping up on Sunday, March 25 at 1 p.m.

UT Martin is led by Jordan Stoner (.333 batting average, seven RBIs) as well as Ben Aslett (.309 batting average, four RBIs). The trio of Ethan Whitley (team-high four home runs and 12 RBIs), JoJo Allen (three home runs and 11 RBIs) and Casey Harford (three home runs and 10 RBIs) have accounted for the bulk of the scoring for the Skyhawks.

Stoner looks to build off his strong week against Union and Southeast Missouri as he went 10-for-18, pounded out four doubles and stretched out a pair of triples to go along with a 1.600 OPS. Whitley had a memorable week as well as the freshman belted the team’s only home runs over that span along with a squad-best five RBIs. Edwards also swung a timely bat as he connected for four RBIs over the week.

Starting on Friday will be left hander Dom Bazzani (1-1, 9.00 ERA) while righty Winston Cannon (0-3, 11.22 ERA) will get the start on Saturday. Sunday’s starter will be southpaw Sam Folks (1-2, 7.16 ERA). Lefty Konnor Aherin (2-1, 4.50 ERA) has anchored the Skyhawk bullpen as he sports the team’s best ERA and has tallied the squad’s only save on the season.

Belmont is led by Matt Cogen (.386 batting average, two home runs and 17 RBIs) and Cully Day (.303 batting average, four home runs and 12 RBIs). Ben Kocher (.293 batting average and eight RBIs), Reynolds (.288 batting average and 10 RBIs), Chas Hadden (.286 batting average and 13 RBIs), and Kyle Conger (.283 batting average and 16 RBIs) have also provided timely hits.

The Belmont rotation will feature right handed pitcher Tyler Vaughn (1-2, 4.00 ERA) on Friday, righty Connor Etheridge (2-2, 7.36 ERA) on Saturday and right hander Casey Queener (2-2, 3.10 ERA) on Sunday. Brennan (1-0, 0.59 ERA) has been a force out of the Bruin bullpen as he has made 12 appearances in 15.1 and wrung up 14 batters.
