FORMER SKYHAWK MALIK LONDON SIGNS PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT IN EL SALVADOR

MARTIN, Tenn. – Malik London, who played for the University of Tennessee at Martin men’s basketball program from 2015-17, has inked a professional contract with Isidro Metapan out of Liga MB.
The Liga MB features 10 teams and is a month in to their 2018 season. Coached by Ernesto Rodriguez, Isidro Metapan is located in El Savador and is currently just 1.5 games out of first place in the league standings.
London joined Isidro Metapan on March 15 and has gotten off to a rousing start. The 6-8, 190-pound forward put together averages of 16.7 points, 14.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 blocks over his first three games.
The Jackson Hamlet, NC native helped the Skyhawks to back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference West division titles, as UT Martin generated 42 wins and made two consecutive OVC Tournament championship game appearances in his tenure.
London saw action in 46 games in his two-year Skyhawk career, averaging 13.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per 40 minutes of playing time. He shot a sizzling 67.1 percent (57-of-85) from the field over his career.
During his senior campaign, London led UT Martin to a school-record 22 victories. He paced the team in rebounding on three different occasions, hauling in a career-best nine rebounds against Boyce College and at Belmont. He dialed up a career-high 16 points (on 7-of-10 shooting) at UMKC as part of four double-digit scoring games while also posting five multi-block performances in 2016-17.
London was also a key contributor in UT Martin’s run in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, making a start in both games while scoring 11 points in just 20 minutes in the first round victory over UNC Asheville.
