NATIONAL COLLEGIATE EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION RELEASES THIRD SET OF EVENT RANKINGS

MARTIN, Tenn. – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association Selection Committee has revealed its third of four event rankings today as the University of Tennessee at Martin is once again ranked in the top-10 in each of the four categories.
The first NCEA event rankings were unveiled on Jan. 16 and were followed by the second rankings on Feb. 15. The fourth and final list of seedings will be released in conjunction with the final team rankings on April 15.
The Skyhawks come in at No. 9 in the newest equestrian on the flat rankings, down from No. 8 in each of the first two polls. UT Martin boasts 14 overall victories and three MOP accolades in that event this season.
In equitation over fences, the Skyhawks jumped up a spot on the list – sliding up to No. 7. UT Martin was originally slotted at No. 7 in the first rankings before coming in at No. 8 in the February rankings. The Skyhawks have dialed up 16 head-to-head wins to go along with five MOP’s in that event so far in 2017-18.
UT Martin moves to No. 10 in the latest horsemanship rankings, posting 15 wins and three MOP’s in that category this season. The Skyhawks were ranked No. 10 in the inaugural rankings before bumping up to No. 8 in horsemanship in February.
In reining, UT Martin is now ranked 10th after earning a No. 4 rank in January and a No. 7 rank in February. On the season, the Skyhawks have generated 15 victories and a pair of MOP accolades in the event.
