Skyhawk Sports Information | Jake Rogers - Sports Information Intern (SOC, RIFLE, BASE)
Jake Rogers is in his first year as an intern in the UT Martin sports information office after serving the previous five years as a student assistant. He will serve as the media contact for the baseball, soccer and rifle teams. Additionally, he serves on the statistician crew at most Skyhawk home events, produces media guides, game day programs, press releases and serves as a media host and coordinating event operations.
While a student assistant at UT Martin, Rogers served on the statistician crew for the Ohio Valley Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournament. At the 2014 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four in Nashville, he served as a media assistant by running statistics to on-air media and assisting with all press conferences.
Rogers has also assisted in various other roles while at UT Martin including public address announcer and scoreboard operator for baseball, softball and soccer as well as serving on the statistician crew for men’s and women’s basketball, football and volleyball. He assisted with the 2012 and 2013 OVC Women’s Soccer Tournaments both of which were held at UT Martin.
As a part of an experiential learning experience, Rogers was among several students selected to assist with NFL On-Location for Super Bowl LI in Houston, Texas. He worked two shifts for the NFL Experience by managing passing drills for fans and also assisted with fan registration for the Super Bowl LI app. He also was responsible escorting NFL Talent for fan appearances before Super Bowl LI.
A native of nearby Dresden, Tenn., Rogers graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in May of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in sport management.
