Skyhawk Golf | Brendon Caballero - Graduate Assistant

Brendon Caballero

Brendon Caballero is in his second season as a graduate assistant for the Skyhawk golf program in 2016-17.

Last season, Caballero was an influential member of the coaching staff which oversaw the school's first-ever Ohio Valley Conference championship. He also helped coach the UT Martin squad during the 2016 NCAA Regionals, held in Franklin, Tenn.

Caballero cemented his status as one of the best golfers to ever attend UT Martin. He capped off his senior season by becoming the first player in the school's Division-I era (since 1992) to win the Ohio Valley Conference individual medalist honor and advance to the NCAA Regionals. He won the 2015 OVC individual crown by one stroke after posting a three-round total of 211 (-5) in Muscle Shoals, Ala., earning a trip to the NCAA Regionals held in Chapel Hill, NC.

Caballero is the first player in UT Martin history to reach All-OVC status in three consecutive years (2013-15). He was also named UT Martin's Bob Carroll Male Athlete of the Year in 2014-15.

Caballero also was highly successful in the classroom during his time as a Skyhawk student-athlete, earning a spot on the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.25 Grade Point Average or higher) in three different years.

A Brentwood, Tenn. native, Caballero graduated from UT Martin with a degree in business in 2015.
