Skyhawk Athletic Administration | Nate Sedergren - Head Strength Coach (Football, Baseball)
Nate Sedergren joined Skyhawk athletics in the summer of 2015 as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Trainer. Sedergren works directly with the football and baseball teams.
Sedergren is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Sedergren also has a Level 1 Performance Coach Certification through United States Weightlifting (USAW).
Prior to coming to UT Martin, worked as an Assistant Strength Coach at Gardner-Webb University under Head Strength Coach Ben Sowders. While at Gardner-Webb, Sedergren assisted with football and men’s basketball. He was responsible for training women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s golf, and softball teams.
In 2013, Sedergren worked at D1 Sports Training in Greenville, South Carolina training athletes from youth to professional levels. While in Greenville he also interned at Furman University under Master Strength Coach David Abernethy.
Sedergren played collegiate football at Western Carolina University where he was a linebacker and team captain his senior year. During his time at Western Carolina, Sedergren was coached by Master Strength Coach, Brad Orht, who is now the Head Strength Coach at Northern Illinois University and Jeff Pittman who is currently the Head Strength Coach at Boise State.
Sedergren graduated from Western Carolina in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in coaching.
