Skyhawk Women's Tennis | Jodie Tiley - Graduate Assistant

Jodie Tiley

After playing for the University of Tennessee at Martin from 2009-12, Jodie Tiley enters her third season as a graduate assistant for head coach Dennis Taylor and the Skyhawk tennis program.

Last season, Tiley helped the Skyhawks to their sixth Ohio Valley Conference championship as UT Martin posted a 13-11 record and a 9-1 OVC mark. The Skyhawks clicked on all cylinders at the end of the season, reeling off eight consecutive victories until a narrow loss in the OVC tournament finals.

The Cambridge, England native made an instant impact in her first year as a Skyhawk student-athlete, going 10-8 and earning the OVC Freshman of the Year Award. Tiley’s honors grew during her junior year when she made the All-OVC first team after leading the Skyhawks with 13 victories at the No. 1 spot, including a 7-1 conference record which helped the Skyhawks win the regular season championship.

In her senior season, Tiley capped off her career with the Skyhawks fifth OVC Player of the Year Award and the first since Sari Nortje’s accomplishment in 2005. During that spectacular senior season, Tiley led UT Martin with 12 victories in singles and 14 doubles victories, en rout to the Skyhawks 8-1 OVC record. With the award, Tiley became the first player in OVC history to have won both the Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year honor.

While assisting with the Skyhawks program, Tiley is currently enrolled in graduate school where she is pursuing a master’s degree in education.
