Skyhawk Football | Will Burnham - Tight Ends
Will Burnham is in his second season as the tight ends coach at UT Martin.
Before UT Martin, Burnham spent the 2015 season serving at Florida State, his alma mater, working with the running backs in a student assistant position. He primarily assisted the running backs coach and special teams coordinator as the Seminoles compiled a 10-3 record, earning them a berth in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Burnham worked first hand with All-American Dalvin Cook who broke the school’s single-season rushing and all-purpose yardage records. Included in his responsibilities were developing the weekly scouting report on opponents, breaking down opponent film, assembling practice clips, assisting in running back drill work and running the scout defense. He was also fully engaged in Florida State's recruiting efforts as the Seminoles assembled the No. 1 ranked 2016 signing class on the FBS level.
Prior to his role on the team’s coaching staff, Burnham served as a football recruiting intern. His responsibilities included reviewing and grading film of players nation-wide to identify potential recruits, assisting in the creation of weekly mail-outs, maintaining relationships with current recruits through social media, and touring athletes and their families through the campus and facilities.
Burnham was a running back at Florida State (2012-14) and was a member of a program that achieved a combined 39-3 record. In those years, the Seminoles secured three consecutive ACC championships, an Orange Bowl championship (2012) and the BCS National Championship (2013). Individually he was named “Scout Team Player of the Week” on 14 occasions while seeing limited action at running back and on various special teams units.
Burnham graduated from Florida State in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing before earning a Master’s degree in sport management in 2016.
